The map does not match my world
Check the complete seed first, including a leading minus sign. Then confirm Java Edition, the dimension, and the release that originally generated the target chunks. Mods and datapacks can also change the result.
A marker is close but not exact
Some buried or small structures can be offset within the marked chunk, and not every feature has a useful Y coordinate. Search around the X/Z location and check nearby heights when the target is underground.
The world was updated
Existing chunks keep the terrain created by their older release. Select the older version for explored areas and the newer version for chunks generated after the update.
Example: choose a useful starting area
Paste the seed and select the Java release. Start at spawn with structure markers cleared, then inspect nearby land, water, and biome variety. Enable Village and one other target such as Stronghold or Monument. Compare the closest practical routes, open the marker coordinates, and visit the preferred area in a Creative copy before moving your survival base.

Where can I copy a seed?
In a world where commands are available, run /seed and copy the complete number. Server players may need the owner to provide it.
Why do Java and Bedrock need separate choices?
Their terrain may look related in modern versions, but spawn and structure rules can still produce different coordinates.
Is every marker guaranteed to exist?
No. The map narrows the search using generation rules; terrain checks, version changes and server modifications can remove or move what appears in game.
Can I share the same map view?
Yes. Use the share control to copy a link containing the seed, selected world settings, dimension, and current map position.
Can I use ChunkSeed without signing in?
Yes. Opening and exploring a seed does not require an account.
