Minecraft Village Finder

Open a seed with Village selected from the first frame. Compare nearby settlements, inspect the terrain between them and decide which one is actually useful, not simply which marker is closest.

Choose a point on the map to place a coordinate pin. Drag to explore another area, or open a marker to view its structure details.

Structure finder

A village coordinate is only the beginning

Village placement follows the world seed, edition and version. This finder calculates candidate settlements in the visible area and ranks nearby results from spawn, giving you a practical shortlist instead of a page full of unrelated markers.

The surrounding biome matters as much as the pin. A village across open plains may be a better first-night destination than a slightly closer one behind mountains or a wide ocean. Use the map to judge the route, nearby wood, coast access and connections to other structures.

Java and Bedrock do not share every village coordinate. Choose the edition running on your computer, console, phone or Realm before copying a location.

How to find a village from your seed

  1. 01Paste the complete seed, including the minus sign when present.
  2. 02Choose Java or Bedrock and match the version that generated the area.
  3. 03Use the Finder tab to compare village distance and direction from spawn.
  4. 04Pan outward when you need more candidates; the map evaluates the area currently in view.
  5. 05Open a marker for coordinates and inspect the route before travelling.
  6. 06Verify an important settlement in game, especially on previews, snapshots or modified servers.

Closest is not always best

A useful starter village needs a survivable route and useful surroundings. Compare biome edges, waterways and nearby structures before choosing. For a server season, a slightly farther village with room to expand can be the better shared destination.

Village biomes and terrain

Villages can generate in supported plains, desert, savanna, taiga and snowy terrain, with version-dependent details. The marker identifies a candidate region; the final building layout, paths and farms still follow local terrain.

Java and Bedrock coordinates

Use the same edition as the world. Similar coastlines do not imply identical settlements. Bedrock mobile, console, Windows and Realms should use Bedrock mode; Java launcher worlds should use Java mode.

Why a marker may not match

First check seed digits, edition, version and whether the chunks were created before an update. Datapacks, add-ons, experiments and custom server generation can also change the result.

Village finder questions

Does this find the nearest village?

It lists candidates in the evaluated map area and compares distance from spawn. Pan farther out when you want a wider search.

Can the same seed have different villages on Java and Bedrock?

Yes. Select the edition you actually play before using any coordinates.

Why is there no village at a marker?

Check the version and edition first. Final terrain checks, upgraded chunks and modified servers can also change a candidate.

Which village should I choose for survival?

Look beyond straight-line distance. Water access, safe terrain, nearby wood and connections to other structures often matter more.

Can I search a random seed?

Yes. Leave the seed empty from the homepage or use Random, then return to this finder with the generated world.

Is this a separate map engine?

No. Village Finder uses the same map as the full Java and Bedrock workbenches, with Village selected and focused copy around that task.

Map and coordinate reports

For a missing or misplaced result, include the full seed, Java or Bedrock, game version, dimension, coordinates, and what appeared in the world. Mention mods, datapacks, add-ons, experiments, server software, or old chunks when relevant.
