Minecraft Dungeon Finder

Paste a Java seed to locate underground dungeon and mob-spawner candidates. This focused map enables Dungeon markers immediately and distinguishes Zombie, Skeleton and Spider rooms so you can choose which locations to verify in game.

Choose a point on the map to place a coordinate pin. Drag to explore another area, or open a marker to view its structure details.

Spawner hunting

What this dungeon finder shows

Minecraft dungeons, also called monster rooms, are small underground cobblestone and mossy-cobblestone rooms built around a monster spawner. This finder plots candidate rooms for a Java seed and classifies the expected spawner as Zombie, Skeleton or Spider.

The marker sits above its underground X/Z position on the surface map. A marker over an ocean, mountain or snowy biome does not mean the room is on the surface; use the Y value in its popup and prepare an underground route.

Dungeon generation depends on surrounding solid blocks, cave carving and openings. The map narrows a large world to useful places to check, but it cannot prove every final underground block. Verify an important marker in Spectator or Creative before building a farm.

How to use the Minecraft dungeon finder

  1. 01Open your Java world, run /seed and copy the complete number, including a minus sign when present.
  2. 02Paste the seed above and press GO. The Dungeon layer is enabled automatically.
  3. 03Choose the Java version that generated the chunks. The current dungeon engine supports Java 1.18 and newer.
  4. 04Pan to the area you want to search. Nearby results are drawn first while the browser continues through the visible region.
  5. 05Zoom in to replace overview dots with Zombie, Skeleton and Spider spawner icons.
  6. 06Click a marker for X, Y and Z, then copy the coordinates and confirm the room in game.

Zombie, Skeleton and Spider dungeons

Vanilla monster rooms choose among three spawner mobs. Zombie is selected more often than Skeleton or Spider. The colored marker and popup identify the predicted type, which helps separate an XP or item farm target from a room you do not need.

Why dungeon markers can appear under water

The map displays surface biomes while dungeons are underground. A room can sit below an ocean floor or beneath an island, so surface water is not a reason to discard it. Read the marker's Y coordinate and check the cave below that X/Z position.

Java version coverage

This dedicated finder supports Java 1.18 and newer, including current 1.21 and 26.x selectors. Older Java releases used different placement rules and stay unavailable here rather than showing misleading markers. Bedrock dungeon finding is not enabled yet.

Accuracy and verification

Seed-based placement is deterministic, but a finished monster room also depends on underground terrain. Treat each result as a strong candidate rather than a guarantee. Confirm valuable locations in a copy of the world, especially before committing to a long tunnel or farm build.

Minecraft dungeon finder FAQ

Does this find mob spawners?

It finds Java monster-room candidates and predicts Zombie, Skeleton or Spider spawners. It does not list trial spawners, mineshaft cave-spider spawners or Nether fortress spawners.

Why is a marker in the ocean?

The dungeon is underground and the map background shows the surface biome. Check its Y coordinate below the ocean floor.

Are all Dungeon markers guaranteed?

No. Cave carving and final block conditions can remove a candidate. Use the map to narrow the search, then verify important coordinates in game.

Which Minecraft versions are supported?

Java 1.18 and newer. Older Java and Bedrock dungeon rules are not currently enabled on this page.

Why do icons change to dots when I zoom out?

Dungeon candidates are dense. Compact colored dots keep the overview readable; zoom in to see the full mob-spawner icons.

Can I build a farm from one marker?

Use the marker to choose a room to inspect first. Confirm the spawner type, room and nearby caves in game before designing the farm.

How is this different from Structure Finder?

Dungeon Finder opens one focused Java underground search with mob subtypes. Structure Finder covers villages, strongholds, monuments and many other generated sites across editions and dimensions.
